Dream.
Train. Play.
Jaime Odin PT, DPT
I am a Physical Therapist with a focus in movement analysis and rehabilitation based in downtown Grand Junction, Colorado. My goal is to provide accessible physical therapy treatment to the local active, motivated population. My experience in the clinic and in the mountains has granted me knowledge and wisdom to guide others to heal, grow and accomplish their goals.
Services
-

Examination
Initial examination consisting of a comprehensive movement assessment and analysis. I'll look at not just your strength and range of motion but also your joint stability, nerve integrity, and functional and sport specific movement patterns. Let's see how your body moves and stabilizes in response to the stress of the physical world.

Dry Needling
I am trained in level II functional dry needling. The needle - especially when combined with electrical stimulation - is a tool used to achieve a “reset" of a motor unit - the muscle fiber and it's innervating nerve. This has the effect of that motor unit temporarily ‘forgetting’ it's prior activation pattern, allowing for decrease in muscle tension and pain. While traditionally targeted towards an hyperactive"trigger point”, dry needling may also stimulate motor units that are hypoactive. These fast acting, temporary physiological changes - when reinforced with movement training - can allow for new motor learning and ultimately, healing.

Movement Training
To reinforce neuromuscular adaptations from Dry Needling and truly “make a change”, it is integral to have your body experience functional movement patterns. These are micro movements that your body typically performs on its own, as part of more global movements. One common example of this principle is training in positions that involve single leg stance in order to improve running gait biomechanics. By relearning these foundational movements, you can prepare your body and your brain to perform at a high level when it’s time to play.
Healing Guided By Movement and Experience
Treatment Approach
My clinical experience in various treatment settings has validated what has been most effective for my own personal healing - movement. Our nervous system need to be adaptable and calm in order to engage in new learning. By reducing muscle tension and pain, dry needling gives our nervous system an opportunity to “reset”, allowing for new motor learning. When reinforced with movement training, we give our bodies a framework through which to move with more control and less pain.
Payment
Physical Therapy treatment should not be dictated by insurance companies. For this reason I will be accepting direct payments in a service based format in alignment with each patient’s treatment needs. In this manner I am able to provide individualized, evidence based, patient centered treatment. Upon request I can provide you with a Superbill - a form you may provide to your insurer for reimbursement. I accept cash and venmo. Each service provided - Examination, Dry Needling and Movement Training costs $40. If you’d like to add an additional treatment area for Dry Needling or Movement Training beyond a 30 minute time slot, that will cost an additional $40.
What To Expect
Duration
Examination, Dry Needling and Movement Training each take around 30 min
Frequency
Are you training for a race? Is the race soon? Is this a new injury? Typically I would recommend one session per week during a treatment course.
Prior to treatment
Please fill out your new patient enrollment and Dry Needling consent forms. Eat food, drink fluids and try to be well rested prior to Dry Needling. Your nervous system will thank you.
Following treatment
Typically patients feel some soreness in the treated body part and related areas for a couple days - this is normal, and typically signifies a good response to treatment.
